Ruby is a passionate advocate and leader with over a decade of experience in non-profit program management, youth advocacy, and trauma-informed counseling.

In her current role as a Behavioral Health Counselor at Outside In, Ruby provides individual counseling to unhoused youth, helping her clients build resilience and navigate the complex intersections of personal trauma and systemic oppression. Her hands-on counseling experience is complemented by her strategic leadership at Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon (PPSO), where she served as the Education Programs Manager. In this capacity, Ruby led comprehensive sexual health education programs and empowered youth to be advocates for sexual and reproductive justice. By working directly with survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence, Ruby has cultivated deep empathy and a holistic understanding of the multifaceted challenges these folks face, allowing her to advocate for informed and equitable support.

As a board member of the Oregon Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Task Force, Ruby brings her expertise in trauma-informed care and sexual health promotion to inform broader policy and programmatic initiatives. Ruby is dedicated to ensuring that survivors are heard, supported, and empowered while advancing initiatives that promote equity, inclusion, and safety for all.
